Zermatt is located in the southwest of Switzerland in the canton Wallis and either known as also very popular among skiers, climbers and hikers.
The little city is located at a height of 1.600 m at the bottom of the famous pyramid-shaped Matterhorn. In the main street of Zermatt there are boutiques, hotels and restaurants as also a big après-ski scene. There are also public lanes for ice skating and curling.
The small alpine village Täsch with its 1200 inhabitants is located approximately five kilometres before Zermatt in the Nikolaital. The Zermatt shuttle train of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn runs every 20 minutes between Täsch and Zermatt. Therewith, you live in the Matterhorn Inn at a distance of barely 12 minutes from the centre of the village Zermatt.
